Final word

As promised, here is the link to the rest of the pics.

Best of the Rest

They are actually still uploading , but they should be done in the next 20 mins.

This trip was a first for me in many regards.  It's of course the first time I've ever gone so far (4200 miles) on a road trip.  First time I've seen remote places like Montana , Wyoming, and inland Canada. First time I've camped for more than one day in a row. First time I've spent Independence day in a bar with a bunch of miners.  And first time I've spent 288 hours with another guy.  All in all, this was one of the best trips I've ever taken.  The people I met were extremely welcoming (especially Salt Lake City ;)), and the sights were unbelievable (pics do not do the Rocky Mountains justice).  I hope this blog was somewhat entertaining and if not at least you could keep tabs on where we were.  Thanks for reading and clicking on the ads!

BTW, Viv you still need to upload that daredevil vid of me sliding down a GLA SEER Bear Grylls style so the people can see.

PS. Mesothelioma, tempurpedic, white water rafting

Attempt at creating fire

Sorry for not posting this earlier, but I thought I'd put this up.  It's a video of me and Viv creating a fire (almost) on our first day at Yellowstone.

I'm almost done with all the pics, which I will upload soon. I know I've been saying that, but it'll be up there by tonite!

Actual route

Mostly the same as what we planned, though we did cut out Vancouver and go to Kelowna, BC instead. Also we came back via Hwy-50 instead of 80 through Nevada. Map link

Home

Tired, dirty, sore butt. But made it home in one piece- to my parents
house at least.

More later after I unwind a bit.

Thanks!!!

We're not quite home yet (near Vacaville), but I just checked and we
just hit $100 in ad revenue on the blog! That is the minimum amount
before google will cut us a check.

So thanks everybody who has been following along on our little
adventure, stay tuned for tons and tons of more pictures once we get
back, clean up, and re-immerse ourselves into civilization.

No pics of I-80, it is boring as hell. Instead, this is the sunset in
eastern Nevada, just outside Great Basin NP.

Pollution

Wow the air is getting even worse as we go lower. This is nasty. We
can see some fires burning in the distance.

I wonder if inhaling all this smoke can cause mesothelioma?

4000 miles

Just past Soda Springs and we hit 4k miles for the trip.

By the way, the air is so brown and hazy, must be the fires. Hope it's
not so bad back in the bay area. It smells like a campfire in the car
right now, and I don't even think it's us.

California!

We're back in sunny California!

Almost immediately i notice people driving slow in the left lane,
bikers actually wearing helmets, and generally crappy roads.

I also just remembered the new law banning talking on the cell phones
while driving. I better charge up my headset. My Plantronics
bluetooth headset that is. And Sriram needs to buy a new headset, I
recommend the Aliph Jawbone 2. Mesothelioma!
