I don't think yellowstone is that impressive. You don't come here and
are in sheer awe like at the sight of the gran canyon or yosemite. In
the words of the old japanese guy who camped next to us, "this place
is shat." But, I can appreciate the whole ecosystem here. There is a
lot if wild animals (mostly bison) that just roam around totally
oblivious to the humans who stop their cars in the middle of the road
causing traffic jams. There were actually bison running through our
campground one morning. The geysers and volcanic stuff is cool but
once you've seen one you've seen them all.
Anyway I'd rank yellowstone below banff but better than glacier natl
park. The plan for today is to go to Jackson , take a much needed
shower, then go rafting.
